Philadelphia Trip 6/12/26

Dear Parents/Guardians:

 

On Friday June 12, 2026, Mr. John-Baptiste, Ms. Haire, Ms. Martinez, Ms. Graffeo, Ms. Drabczyk and Mrs. Snyder plus 4 parent chaperones will take 102 exceptional students from homerooms 811, 812, 813, 821, 822, 823 and 713, 731, 732, 733, 734, 735 on an educational trip to Philadelphia, PA.    

                             When: Friday, June 12th 2026 

        Where: Philadelphia, PA

 

We will be departing IS 27 promptly at 8:00 am returning approximately 6pm.

         ** In the event that we are running early or late, we will have students call home from the bus**

 

Cost:  The cost of the trip is $66, which includes travel to and from Philadelphia, PA and entrance into the African American museum only. We will also visit Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, U.S. Mint and various other tourist highlights. A map of the local area will be provided to chaperones and students. Students are encouraged to bring extra money for souvenirs and/or meals. ** Price DOES NOT include lunch or money for souvenirs.  Students are responsible for bringing money for food or bring their food with them**

 

·      Please return the bottom of this notice to either Mr. John-Baptiste or Ms. Martinez as soon as possible. Reserved seats are limited to 102 students on a first come, first served basis. 

 

Chancellor's Regulation A-670 (School Trips): Parent Notification/Consent Form

a) I understand that there are risks of injury associated with the above-listed physical and sports activities and I consent to my child’s participation in all these activities except for the following:

b) Please indicate below any permanent or temporary medical or other condition, including special dietary and medication needs, or the need for visual or auditory aids, which should be known about your child:c) I agree that in the event of an emergency injury or illness, the staff member(s) in charge of the trip may act on my behalf and at my expense in obtaining medical treatment for my child.

d) I understand that my child is expected to behave responsibly and to follow the school’s discipline code and policies.

e) I agree and understand that I am responsible for the actions of my child. I release the school from all claims and liability that arise in connection with the activity, except if due to the negligence of school officials.

g) I understand that alcoholic beverages and/or illegal drugs are prohibited and have discussed this prohibition with my child. I understand that if my child is found in possession of these substances, they will be subject to school disciplinary procedures and possible criminalprosecution.

h) I understand that students who violate the school’s discipline code may be excluded in the future by the school from participating in a event.

 

*Any student wishing to participate trips must meet the school's behavior requirements and be in good standing in all their classes, which includes maintaining a satisfactory rating in their behavior. Students are expected to arrive on time to class.Those who cannot adhere to these standards will not be permitted to attend the trip, as we want to ensure a positive and safe experience for all participants. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us make this event enjoyable for everyone.* This means no N's or U's on report card.
