2025 8th Grade Dance

Dear Parents/Guardians of the Class of 2025:

We are pleased to announce information about the 8th Grade Dance being held for our graduating Class of 2025.  Please note that participation in all upcoming senior activities is contingent upon behavior and overall academic standing. Factors that influence a child’s overall standing include attendance and lateness, class performance, behavior, homework, effort, attitude, and grades. A conduct grade of N or U is  grounds for exclusion in such events.

 We hope that all students will be able to participate in one of the most anticipated and exciting culminating events here at Prall.  The date, time, and location of this year’s 8th Grade Dance are as follows:

The Staaten

697 Forest Ave 

Staten Island, NY

Monday, June 16, 2025 at 5:30 P.M. - 7:30 P.M.

The cost is $65 per person for a delicious dinner, music by a great DJ, and a lifetime of memories.  Only Prall’s Class of 2025  is invited to this event.  Please be advised that students will be not permitted to attend the 8th Grade Dance if  senior dues are not paid.  Appropriate formal attire for middle school students is expected.

Payment and permission authorization for this event (8th Grade Dance) can be found via our website at www.is27.org under the Online Payments tab. Cash will not be accepted. The deadline to register is Monday, June 2nd.  We must guarantee the number of guests to the caterer; therefore, no refunds and no late payments can be made after the 2nd. There will be no exceptions. Submission of money does not guarantee acceptance of your child to attend the dance.

Rental vehicles, including limousines and town cars are not allowed to be used to and from the dance. Parents will be responsible for their child’s safe arrival at 5:30 PM and departure at 7:30 PM from The Staaten. Attendance in school on the day of the dance is required for participation in the dance.  Separate notices will be sent home as we approach this event outlining the details of an early sign-out process (beginning at 10 AM), drop-off and pick-up procedures, and seating arrangements. Should you have questions or concerns regarding these details, please contact our senior activities coordinators, Ms.Sica, Ms. Nichols, Ms. Mainolfi, Ms. Smith  by phone, via email, or via our school website.

Mode of Transportation: Guardian must provide transportation to and from event. 

Purpose of Trip: 8th Grade Dance 

Specific Clothing/Equipment required for this trip: Appropraite Middle School Attire 

 

a) I agree that in the event of an emergency injury or illness, the staff member(s) in charge of the trip may act on my behalf and at my expense in obtaining medical treatment for my child. 

b) I understand that my child is expected to behave responsibly and to follow the school’s discipline code and policies. 

c) I agree and understand that I am responsible for the actions of my child. I release the school from all claims and liability that arise in connection with the trip, except if due to the negligence of school officials.

d) I understand that I am responsible for getting my child to and from the departure and return sites identified above. I understand that my child shall be accompanied by staff member(s) during the trip, including while traveling from the departure site to the destination site, and from the destination site to the return site.

e) I understand that alcoholic beverages and/or illegal drugs are prohibited and have discussed this prohibition with my child. I understand that if my child is found in possession of these substances, he/she will be subject to school disciplinary procedures and possible criminal prosecution.

f) I understand that students who violate the school's discipline code may be excluded in the future by the school from participating in a trip.
